The arts have a powerful way of expressing beauty, sparking joy, and drawing people together. This was on full display at our Performing Arts Evening, a culmination of months of dedication.
More than 60 students took to the stage, sharing a vibrant program that included music, vocal and drama performances. Audiences enjoyed everything from joyful jazz and classical pieces to lively ensembles and theatrical moments. These performances reflect the strength of our Music program, which includes Year 3 Strings Immersion, Year 5 Woodwind Immersion, Junior and Senior Concert Bands, Jazz Band, private music lessons and more!
Research shows that music education can improve wellbeing, including greater self-confidence, social connections, emotional awareness and increase student engagement in learning. We are proud to be a school with a strong music program that nurtures all our students’ gifts and provides ways for them to use their talents to bring joy to others.
Complementing the stage program, a gallery exhibition of student artwork showcased the creativity and skill of our Visual Arts students. The evening was a true celebration of the arts at our College and a wonderful opportunity for students to shine with confidence, teamwork, and joy.
Our concert bands have also been sharing the joy of the arts with the wider community. They brought smiles to residents at Melody Park Retirement Home with a lively concert, created a festive atmosphere at the Nerang Family Funanza, and represented the College at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod.
Each of these experiences reflects the heart of our program to use the arts to bring joy to others and for students to grow in confidence and skill. Congratulations to all involved!
