At Gold Coast Christian College, faith and spiritual growth is woven into the everyday rhythm of the school. Our faith is lived out in our relationships, learning, and service.
Students are supported in their spiritual journey through opportunities to explore faith in age-appropriate and meaningful ways including Bible studies, worship, and teaching.
We seek to create a Christ-centred environment where students feel safe to ask questions, grow in understanding, and develop a personal faith that shapes how they live and lead.
Chaplaincy and pastoral support
As a Christ-centred school, spiritual care is an important part of student wellbeing. Our College Chaplain supports students and families through pastoral conversations, encouragement, and faith-based support.
The Chaplain works closely with teachers and the wellbeing team, offering pastoral care, encouragement, and guidance.
Students and families can access chaplaincy support during times of challenge, transition, or when simply needing someone to talk to. Where appropriate, the Chaplain can also assist with referrals to external support services.
The Chaplaincy and Student Welfare Program is partly funded by the Australian Government Department of Education under the National School Chaplaincy and Student Welfare Program.
Chapel and worship
Weekly Chapel is a central part of life at Gold Coast Christian College. Primary and Secondary students gather regularly for worship, reflection, and teaching grounded in the Bible.
Chapel is student-led with a different class planning and leading the gathering each week. Leading Chapel gives students opportunities to practice public speaking, leading worship, participating in drama, and running sound and visual media. This approach helps students grow in confidence, teamwork, and leadership while actively engaging with their faith.
Parents are always welcome to attend Chapel and share in these meaningful moments with the school community.
Deepening faith and service
Throughout the year, students are invited into deeper experiences of faith through a range of opportunities designed to nurture spiritual growth and purpose.
Week of Worship (WOW)
A much-loved highlight of the year, Week of Worship is a week of daily chapel experiences focused on a shared theme. Guest speakers encourage students to reflect on their faith and consider next steps in their personal journey with Jesus.
Service and outreach
Senior students have the opportunity to participate in STORMCo (Service To Others Really Matters), a week-long service experience where students work together to support communities through practical projects and children’s programs. This experience encourages students to live out their faith through service, teamwork, and compassion.
Faith that shapes everyday life
Spiritual life at Gold Coast Christian College is not limited to scheduled programs, it is reflected in our Values and our culture. Every day, students are encouraged to grow in faith and purpose, learning how to live out what they believe in practical and meaningful ways.
