Our Prep to Year 3 students finished their Term 4 swim program with a joyful Junior Swimming Carnival that celebrated participation, confidence and fun in the water.

Every student took part in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and kickboard races, with pool noodles on hand to support confidence. The goal was for every child to give it a go and enjoy the experience, and they did!

"I loved jumping in the water." - Arella, Prep

"I loved the kickboard race." - Poppy, Prep

"I liked doing the diving." - N, Year 1

The carnival included a mix of races and novelty events, with highlights including the parent-student towing race and the deep-dive treasure hunt.

Students also loved showcasing their skills in our diving events. One focused on technique and form while the much loved bomb-diving competition tested who could make the biggest splash.

"I tried my best and I got a ribbon." - Frankie, Prep

"If you're nervous, just believe in yourself." - Y, Year 1, shared advice for anyone feeling nervous about a swimming carnival.

"Yes, believe in yourself and just keep going." - River, Year 1, said the swimming carnival was a great way to end this term's swimming lessons.

"A special shout out to all the parents who joined in the fun. Amazing to see our parents literally dive in and get involved. Thanks to everyone who came and supported our wonderful students at the Swimming Carnival.” - Mr Matt Moore, Deputy of Primary

A huge thank you to our Primary Captains and our Secondary students who volunteered in the water and helped guide our younger swimmers. Their practical care is one of the things that makes our community special.

"It was amazing helping all the kids. They were having so much fun competing with their friends." - F, Year 6

"I really enjoyed helping. They were all so cute and excited and ready to try it out. It took a lot of energy from them and I'm sure they were exhausted after, but they gave it a go and tried their best." - M, Year 6
