From the first race with our youngest runners to the final Secondary tug of war, our Cross Country Carnival was all about participation. Whether competing for Age Champion or jogging alongside friends in the social events, every effort contributed to house points and the spirit of the day.

Across the course, parents, staff and students cheered and celebrated every lap. It created an atmosphere where students felt supported to keep going, even when the course became challenging.

"It was hard work but I did it! And I liked getting to help to hand out water to the high schoolers as they ran by." - Savannah, Year 4

"I liked being a 'hare' runner for the younger students. I run out in front to show them where to go. They chased me and it made them run faster. I liked encouraging them to keep running. And I liked running in my competitive race then doing another lap for House points." - Jake, Year 6

"I did the social run and it was really fun. And I really liked getting to play basketball and tug of war. It was a great day." - Caleb, Year 7

The Lunch Market was another highlight, bringing students, families and staff together while raising over $800 for Captivating International, an organisation working to support women and children impacted by trafficking.

Our Cross Country and other carnivals are intentionally built around an important value in our College culture: participation. We believe strong character and citizenship are developed when students chose to step forward and contribute.

"Cross Country is great because you run and give it your best shot. My advice is to give everything a try because you might like it! Then you can practice and get better." - Jake, Year 6

"My advice for next year is to give it a go. Get out there and try running some laps." - Caleb, Year 7

"Our students did a sensational job! I loved seeing the smiles across their faces with the pride of running laps, not just for themselves but for their Houses. And so great to see parents involved and cheering. Their support makes a huge difference for the students. From the youngest runners all the way to high school, I loved seeing the competitive spirit and also the vibes of going around the course in social groups, chatting and walking and spending time with each other. We love seeing all levels of participation and contribution." - Mrs Kylie McMullen, Head of Primary Sport

We are proud of the way our students approached the day with determination and spirit. These are the moments where confidence grows, community builds and character is shaped. Well done to all our students!
