Year 1 and 2 students took on an exciting challenge using Bee-Bots to demonstrate their coding skills.
After plenty of hands-on practice and class discussions about how Bee-Bots work, students worked in small groups to design algorithms on a 4x4 grid. Once they mastered that, they levelled up to design a 4x5 grid filled with obstacles!
Each student wrote their code, tested their Bee-Bot’s movements, and recorded how many attempts it took to reach their goal. It was a fantastic way to combine problem-solving, teamwork, and technology in a fun and interactive way.
“Bee-Bots is fun. My favourite part was drawing my map. And I pressed on arrows on the Bee-Bot and it moves.” - Amber, Year 2
At Gold Coast Christian College, we love seeing our students grow in confidence as curious, capable learners.
