Our Very Own Silver Medalist!

One of our Year 7 students Hugo Vitiello has recently experienced some seriously impressive results in surf lifesaving. Back in July, Hugo competed in the State Lifesaving Pool Rescue Championships, receiving 2 Queensland bronze medals – one for the 4 x 50m obstacle relay and one for the line throw event. Last weekend, Hugo participated in the Australian Lifesaving Pool Rescue Championships (held at the Aquatic centre over 3 days). He received a silver medal in the 4 x 50m obstacle relay team in his age level. He also came in 5th in the 50m swim with fins and had success in the other events he participated in. The Currumbin Vikings (Hugo’s home team) also won the overall Australian competition. Hugo says he loves swimming and will continue competing and giving his best in the years to come.

A huge congratulations Hugo, we are really proud of your efforts and recognise the significant commitment you have made in training in order to experience these amazing results. GCCC is right behind you!
