Regional Finals held at Gold Coast Christian College

Recently, Gold Coast Christian College had the privilege of hosting the F1 in Schools Challenge Regional Final. There were three divisions for the competition; Professional Class, Development Class and Cadet Class. Our students were able to compete against a number of other schools from the Brisbane River, south to the Queensland border. Our College had three wins, taking out each division with a first place. These three teams, along with a fourth team, are going through to the Queensland State Final up in Mackay on the 17th through 19th of October. We are really proud of our students and commend this excellent result, especially given that we have only been in the competition for 8 weeks. Well done and congratulations to the teachers involved with the competition. We would also like to thank the Hon. Karen Andrews, our Federal MP, for her continued support of this event and her desire to encourage students’ pursuit of STEM subjects. The F1 in Schools Challenge is one of the best STEM in schools challenge competitions around. It is worldwide; 17 000 schools participate. Recently Australia won the world titles, you can find out more at the F1 in Schools Challenge Website.
