When life doesn’t go the way we imagined, we can trust that God still has a plan. This year’s Easter Chapel invited us into a story where purpose and fulfilment are found in unexpected places.
Our Primary students presented A Tale of Three Trees, a story of longing, purpose and hope. Three trees dreamed of lives of greatness as a treasure chest, a royal ship, and a tall tree pointing to heaven. It seemed their dreams had not come true, until Jesus came into their story and changed everything. It was a beautiful reminder that God’s plans can be trusted.
From a delightful troupe of singing Christmas trees and the Easter bunny, to the three dreaming trees, woodchoppers, carpenters, disciples, Mary and Joseph, Jesus, and a colourful collection of narrators, the story was brought to life with energy and joy. Our Prep to Year 4 students formed a feature choir that supported the story with songs and actions, and our Years 5 and 6 led worship. The students had the audience enthralled, laughing and even shedding a few tears.
It was a joy to welcome our families and friends across both chapel services. Each guest received a handmade Easter ornament, thoughtfully created by our students to celebrate faith and hope. Thank you to all who were able to join our Easter Chapels this year.
We are proud of how our students committed to rehearsals, learned their roles and gave their best in each performance. This is something we value deeply as a College. Every student has regular opportunities to stand on a stage, use a microphone, present to an audience and work together as part of a creative whole. Experiences like our Easter Chapels give students the opportunity to practise focus, follow direction, build skill and confidence, and experience the joy of contributing to something that brings delight to others. These experiences help our students grow in confidence in to bring their unique contribution to the world.
Special thanks to Mrs Burrett and Mrs Lindbeck for leading the production, and to all the parents, students, teachers and staff who contributed to this beautiful production.
