Did you know...
One of the absolute highlights of Term 1 was the success of Gold Coast Christian College teams at the National Competition for the F1 in Schools™ STEM Challenge. Our College had two teams in the National Finals, Dark Matter Racing (Development Class) and Vivacity (Professionals Class), which is an outstanding achievement in our first year of competition.
Our College Principal, Mr Lawson had the privilege of travelling to Melbourne with the teams for the National Finals and as Principal, he could not be prouder of how our teams conducted themselves through the competition process. Vivacity finished a very respectable 6th in the Professional Class, while Dark Matter Racing came 2nd in the Development Class. Dark Matter Racing was also awarded the Best Newcomer Award.
Both teams narrowly missed out on qualifying for the International Competition. This success is a reflection of the commitment of the students and staff at our school who have worked tirelessly on the F1 Challenge, and we congratulate them for their efforts. It is a testament to the quality of teaching and learning at Gold Coast Christian College that we were able to hold our own – and very nearly win – a competition of this nature against much larger schools on a national scale.
